Fundraising Terms & Policies for Beneficiaries
1. Honesty and Accuracy
All campaigns must be honest, accurate, and for lawful purposes. False claims, misleading stories, or exaggerated needs will result in immediate suspension. 50 Lomi may request supporting documents to verify campaigns at any time.
2. Prohibited Activities
No illegal or harmful activities are allowed. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Political campaigns for parties, candidates, or activist violence.
- Fraud, hate speech, terrorism, or any criminal behavior.
- Personal scams, such as fake emergencies or undisclosed profit-making ventures.
- Fundraising by unverified organizations or individuals who fail to provide required documents.
3. Required Documentation
To ensure transparency and trust, 50 Lomi requires the following documents for verification:
- For U.S. Organizations (NGOs/Charities):
- Active 501(c)(3) determination letter from the IRS.
- Employer Identification Number (EIN).
- For U.S. Individuals:
- A valid driver's license or state ID.
- For Ethiopian Organizations (NGOs/Charities):
- Valid license from the F.D.R.E Authority for Civil Society Organizations.
- Article of Organization (legal founding document).
- TIN certificate.
- For Ethiopian Individuals:
- National ID (Fayda/F.Y.D.A).
- For Medical Fundraising:
- A doctor’s diagnosis report.
- Hospital bills or cost estimates.
- Additional medical evidence if requested.
50 Lomi may require additional documentation depending on the campaign type, such as:
- Education: School admission letters and tuition invoices.
- Business Startups: A business plan and government registration.
- Emergencies: Police reports, proof of damages, or other relevant evidence.
4. Donation Processing & Fund Disbursement
All donations are securely processed through our official payment partners: PayPal, Stripe, and FenanPay.
5. Policy Violations & Consequences
If a fundraiser is found to be in violation of 50 Lomi's policies—such as through fraud, misrepresentation, or illegal activity—the following actions will be taken:
- The campaign will be suspended immediately.
- 50 Lomi and its payment partners reserve the right to freeze all associated funds.
- Withdrawals will be blocked pending a full investigation.
- If wrongdoing is confirmed, refunds will be issued to donors.
- 50 Lomi will cooperate fully with authorities in the U.S. or Ethiopia.
- Fraudulent users will be permanently banned and blacklisted from the platform.
- We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for fraud. There is no appeals process for confirmed violations, and we may pursue legal action for the seizure or restitution of misused funds.
6. Use of Funds
Funds must be used exactly as described in the campaign. Campaign organizers may be required to provide receipts or proof of expenses. 50 Lomi reserves the right to:
- Review and remove campaigns that violate policies.
- Withhold funds during investigations.
- Request additional documents at any time.
If a campaign is suspended, donors will be refunded automatically. Unused funds may either be redirected to similar, vetted causes or refunded.
7. Payout Process
To receive funds, beneficiaries must:
- Select a payout method (e.g., bank transfer, mobile money, PayPal).
- Ensure all account details and verification documents are provided and accurate.
Payouts can be triggered in two ways:
- Automatically released once goals are met.
- Manually requested by the beneficiary from their dashboard.
The withdrawal process typically involves:
- Logging into your 50 Lomi account.
- Selecting the fundraiser and requesting a payout.
- Choosing your payout method and entering the withdrawal amount.
- Allowing three to five business days for processing.
Please note:
- Banks or payment processors may charge withdrawal or processing fees.
- ID verification is required before the first payout.
- Large amounts or international transfers may take longer to process.
